Cradle to Cradle^®

Cradle to Cradle^® is a view on sustainable design introduced in 2002 by William McDonough and Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart in their book Cradle to Cradle®: Remaking the Way We Make Things.
Through Cradle to Cradle^® we can exploit our natural resources economically and ecologically in a responsible manner. By doing so, we can establish our living environment such that we are not banking on the future. On the contrary, we are creating new opportunities and possibilities for future generations.

With Cradle to Cradle^® as the starting point, the Municipality of Venlo, together with Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart and McDonough, established the Venlo Principles in 2007 as the foundation for desirable growth and a sustainable future: Our mission is to use our Cradle to Cradle® framework as an engine for innovation.
